THE BRIARWOOD BULLETIN
June,2021

June Greetings
We are coming to the close of an unprecedented school year. The COVID Pandemic has impacted every aspect of school. I am so very proud of the efforts our students, staff, and parents to work together to ensure students attend school and are growing.
Please continue to have your student work on literacy and math skills over the summer. The district is providing all students access to Raz-Kids (literacy) and Dreambox(math) websites over the summer. Just 8-10 minutes per day for each subject can help to advance students and to close academic gaps that might be present. Your child's login information for each program will be included with the report card.
As we prepare for summer break, I want to wish you a happy and healthy summer. I look forward to the 2021-2022 school year and I continue to be hopeful that the COVID Pandemic will be over.
Warm Regards,
Mrs. Walter
Fun in the Sun Days
Please read the letter below regarding the Fun in the Sun Days happening next week for ALL students.
BRIARWOOD
FUN IN THE SUN DAY
We are pleased to share with you that we are planning a Fun in the Sun Day for Briarwood Students. Our team has planned fun events that will allow the students to play games outdoors with their classmates. The planning committee has scheduled fun activities such as kick the shoe, sponge relay race, 50-yard dash, etc. for the students to play. Listed below, is the Fun in the Sun Day schedule and meeting area for virtual classrooms.
All Briarwood students are invited to attend on their scheduled day and time. Please note, that students will be asked to wear masks and will stay with their classroom peers during the entire time out on the field with teachers. Unfortunately, due to our current COVID safety plan, visitors and volunteers are unable to attend the events with the classes/students. Hopefully, next year this status will change. Also, due to limited time in our school calendar, a rain date has not been established.
We ask that when your child attends this event, that they wear athletic shoes, sun screen, a hat, and mask. Water and a cold treat will be provided to all students participating in the events. If your child is not feeling well, please do not send the to the Fun in the Sun Day.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Walter

Return of Items- parking passes, laptops, wireless cards
Also, if your child is attending face to face instruction, and has a laptop or wireless card at home, please have an adult return it to the school as soon as possible.
If your child attends virtual classes, we will be collecting laptops on June 16th and June 17th at the main entrance. All WWPS laptops need to be returned to the school. Thank you.
