Staff Spotlight: Michaun Fowler
New year, new teacher!
This school year has seen many new teachers to the CALC program. One of those teachers is Michaun Fowler, who teaches in our high school equivalency program. Michaun is originally from Los Angeles, California. When she first came to Massachusetts she was working as a Human Resource Consultant. It was by accident that she transitioned to teaching. Michaun finds that working to help others who want to learn is a great path for her future.
Michaun said, “I was very excited to learn more about the night program. The program at the CALC is in a format where you can help support and motivate students to meet their goals to complete their high school equivalency. The CALC also helps teachers be the best resource to students by providing additional support and a great working environment.”
When asked to describe her experience working at CALC in one word Michaun chose fulfilling. She says, “It is amazing to see your students’ confidence increase and progress to taking a test that gets them closer to their goals.”
Although Michaun did not plan to become a teacher at first, luckily for us, she decided to follow this path. Welcome Michaun!
