TMS Yearbook

The Taylor Middle School Yearbook is available for purchase now! The cost will be $17.50 per yearbook. The deadline date to buy will be Friday, May 6th. No more orders will be taken after this date!

End of the Year Celebration

Taylor Middle School students have had an awesome year! As a way to reward them for their great behavior and tremendous accomplishments, these students will have the opportunity to attend an end of the year celebration! We have reserved the Lovington Wellness Center and will bus students there for a swimming party.

8th graders will go in morning or afternoon time slots on Thursday, May 19.

7th graders will go in morning or afternoon time slots on Friday, May 20.

Please make sure your student returns the parent permission form so they are able to attend!

Awards Assembly

The annual TMS Awards Assembly will be in the morning on May 18th. The event will be available for parent/guardian viewing via Zoom. That link will be sent out in a Remind announcement on the day of the assembly. It will then be posted on the TMS YouTube page for those that missed viewing it live.

National Junior Honor Society

Taylor Middle School will induct 7th grade members into NJHS at 4:00 pm on Thursday, May 19th. Students and their families are welcome to pick up certificates in the front courtyard to pick up certificates. Cookies, beverages, and picture opportunities will be available.

Physicals for 2022 - 2023 School Year

TMS 7th and 8th graders were bused to NOR-LEA on April 26th. All those that had completed their paperwork were able to get their physicals for next school year. Thank you to all that helped in this process!

TMS Book Study

Teachers are lifelong learners and always looking for ways to improve culture and practices. This month TMS teachers became students once again as they participated in a book study of the book titled, "The Coffee Bean" on Wednesday afternoons.

Students were tasked with decorating the door of their Advisory class. The theme was to be inspirational for finishing the school year strong!

Assistant Principal Appreciation

National Assistant Principals Week was the week of April 4–8! Students and teachers wanted to honor Mr. Fred Castellanos and recognize the enormous contributions he makes to student success here at Taylor Middle School. TMS loves Mr. Castellanos!

Mrs. Crawford - Science

Students in Mrs. Crawford's 8th grade science class recently completed an experiment to learn about exothermic reactions.

Literacy Enrichment Activity

The latest TMC literacy enrichment activity for our students was a creative project. Students were asked to work in teams during advisory to design a book cover, create an insert, and write a summary for the back cover. Check out the pictures below to see some of the great work TMS students completed!

Track & Field

The Taylor Middle School home track meet was a huge success. Both boys and girls teams competed well and showed growth as they decreased times in running events and increased heights and distances in field events. The following pictures were taken during the meet on April 7th. The Border Conference and last meet of the season was held on April 11th in Artesia. The boys earned 3rd place.

We asked...they answered! Students voted on their favorite teachers. Read below to meet some of the teachers who help make Taylor Middle School a great place to learn!

Platinum Club

Students earn LiveSchool points for attendance and positive behavior. The points may be used to purchase rewards on the virtual TMS PBIS Store.

Lunch with the Boss

Students were able to use LiveSchool points to purchase a ticket for "Lunch with the Boss!" Mrs. Lockwood, Mr. Castellanos and 68 students attended a lunch served in the TMS Tech Lab. Favorite foods such as pizza, chicken nuggets, french-fries, brownies, and drinks were on the menu. Students then got to go outside for a bit of fun!

Garden Club

The Garden Club stepped out of the TMS atrium and walked to Lovington High School to tour the greenhouse after school. Thank you to Mr. Bill Lewis, Operations Supervisor who was on hand to show these students around.
