Seeking Your Input on Welcoming New Families to Forest Hills
The Forest Hills School Advisory Committee is bringing in the New Year by seeking your input on an innovative initiative that helps us welcome new families to our FHES community. Our friends at IdeaScale generously offered their crowdsourcing platform to help us generate and collaborate on ideas that support this effort.
Our goal is to provide new students and their families with all the information and resources they need in a timely, relevant, inclusive, and delightful manner. The site will remain open for collaboration through April 30th, 2020, where the data will be reviewed for actionable opportunities. If you would like to contribute in this initiative, we invite you to participate here:
https://forest-hills.ideascale.com/a/register
By clicking the link above or the buttom below, you'll have an opportunity to submit ideas you feel would be helpful to equip and welcome a new family to the FHES community. You will also have an opportunity to review other submissions and build on each other's ideas to foster the collective wisdom of the community!
YouthTruth Survey Open Next Week
LOSD has partnered the national nonprofit, YouthTruth, to help us hear from you about what we are doing well, and how we can improve in the area of school culture.
The YouthTruth Family Survey will be open from Feb. 3-14. You will receive it via email on Monday.
We invite all students to participate in this survey, however, participation is voluntary. Parents and guardians are encouraged to review the survey questions. If you'd like to have your child opt out, please complete and turn in this letter to your child's principal. Your child's ratings will not be identified in any reports because results are shared at the group level. Personally identifiable information will not be released to any third party.
If you have questions, contact David Salerno Owens at salernod@loswego.k12.or.us.
Boundary Review Open House
Listen to the thinking behind the proposed elementary boundary changes and share your feedback at the Boundary Review Committee's Open House next week.
Wednesday, Feb. 5
6-8 p.m.
Lakeridge High School Library
Boundary review committee members -- parents and staff like you -- will be on hand to discuss the thinking that's gone into the draft boundaries and to listen to your feedback.
You can view the most current draft of the proposed boundaries on the boundary landing page on losdschools.org, along with meeting materials, minutes and a new Frequently Asked Questions. Also, an online survey is now open to capture your feedback for the committee to review following the Open House.
At any time in the process, to provide comments regarding elementary boundaries, please email: info@loswego.k12.or.us.
