Principal's Point--9/11
Dear Timberview Families,
Today marks the anniversary of the terrorist attacks on 9/11, one of the defining moments in US history. While our students were not alive in 2001, we intentionally take time in their social studies classes today to discuss the events that unfolded and to highlight the importance of service to our country and service to each other. Events like these are tragic, but they also illustrate the resolve and bravery of the American people. One of the quotes that always comes to mind in times of tragedy and suffering is from Mr. Rogers. "When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, 'Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.'"
Today, we honor the helpers and those who were tragically lost, and vow to never forget that day.
Updates:
Schedules are complete and there should be no more changes for students until the 9 weeks when instructional choices may change again.
19-20 Yearbooks: We are slowly working through distribution of all of the 19-20 yearbooks that were bought last year. All of our current 6-8th grade students have had an opportunity to get their books. Our former 8th graders, and now freshman at Timber Creek, will be getting theirs soon. They have been delivered to Timber Creek and campus administration will be calling students down to collect. We will have a pick up day for our remote 9th graders after all of the in person student books have been collected. We will share that information in this newsletter as well as through TCHS communications when the date has been decided. Thank you for your patience while we get all of them distributed. We will make sure that all students who ordered their book receives one.
Thank you for another great week of learning!
