News & Info @ Alta Vista
Just a quick reminder - please be sure that any classroom visitors have checked in at the office and have a sticker. Additionally, if you are approached by a parent who wants to present information to your class, let the office know. Lastly, feel free to say, "No" to these types of requests. If you need help in messaging that, Cathy is happy step in and help.
PARKING FOR EVENING EVENTS
Although parking can be challenging during evening events at Alta Vista, parking spaces can only be "reserved" for District Office staff and Board Members. Cones are placed in the parking lot by Gary for these individuals. Thanks for your understanding.
FIRST WEDNESDAY MEETINGS
In the past, the meetings/trainings scheduled on the first Wednesday of the month were called "Principal Wednesdays". This year, we're re-branding them with a new name - AV Collaboration Meeting. On September 5th, we'll have a meeting to discuss the structure of this time and plans for the year. It will be a short meeting to allow you time to complete the required "Mandated Reporter" training video. If you've already completed it before 9/5, the time after our meeting is all yours.
MONDAY MORNING MESSAGE
We will be starting the Monday Morning Message next week (9/27). Our goal is to begin shortly after the 8:15 bell.
F&P ASSESSMENT KIT MIA
The F&P Assessment Kit from room 5 is missing. Please check your cabinets and closets to see if it migrated into your room. Thanks!

In the Classroom
If I stop by your room, don't stop what you're doing. Your work is important. If I need to ask a question or need a moment of your time, I'll let you know. I'm also going to try to minimize the disruption to student learning. You'll see me modeling the "micro wave" that I shared with students during my visits last week.
You may see me for two minutes - you may see me for fifteen. It depends upon how long I can be away from the office. If I have emails to sort through or a newsletter to write, you may even see me get comfy in your room, pull out my computer, and try to get a little work done. I have to be honest -- it's much more fun to be in classrooms than in the office.
Have a wonderful week.
