Principal's Newsletter
From the Desk of Ms. Clark
May 9, 2019
Dear Parents,
We continue to honor Mary during this month of May, praying to her with special devotion. Mary is the best example of motherhood, devotion, and a sense of hope that our Lord has given us so freely. During this month dedicated to Mary, our students offer special prayers and devotions to our Mother, Most Pure. I invite you to attend our school May Procession on Thursday, May 16th at 1:15pm. There is no better way to honor Jesus than to honor His mother.
May God bless all of our mothers as we celebrate with them on Sunday. In the words of Saint Katharine Drexel, “O Holy Mother of God, behold your child! I am not worthy but Jesus gave me to you. I am a part of His legacy; teach me to be all that a child of Mary ought to be.”
God’s blessings,
Ms. Clark
State of the School Address
Our final PA General Meeting and State of the School Address will be held on Wednesday, May 15th at 7pm in the cafeteria. Don’t miss this important meeting! We will be discussing our school, highlights of the school year, future goals, finances, and advancements. There will be $250 raffle drawing for all who attend and we will also choose the winner of our stewardship raffle. Please mark your calendars and plan on attending this meeting.
Sister DIane's Retirement Mass and Reception
In recognition of Sister Diane’s upcoming retirement and in thanksgiving for her 25 years of service to the parishioners of Assumption BVM, there will be a Farewell on Sunday, May 19th. The celebration will begin at the 11:00 am Mass and a luncheon immediately afterwards in the Parish Hall. All students and families are invited and encouraged to attend the 11am Mass at Assumption on this day. Students are asked to wear their school uniforms. We hope you can attend.
Late Arrivals
All students (Pre-K to 8th grade) are expected to arrive at school on time. A student’s entire day can be thrown off by simply missing the morning routine in his/her classroom. Additionally, by arriving on time you send the message that you respect others and appreciate the value of their time and attention.
Stay Focused
Even though we are starting the last stretch of the school year, please continue to help us enforce the importance of good behavior and a solid work ethic with the children. Thank you, in advance, for supporting all that the teachers are doing during the school day to keep our students challenged by checking at home to see that homework and projects are completed.
Thank you, 8th Grade and Mr. Facenda
