A note from Mrs. Zellner and Mr. West
Dear Maple Dale families,
Wow! The last day of school sure did come quickly! Keena and I have reflected on this school year and, while it has been an unique year, we have thoroughly enjoyed working with the students and staff each and every day. The original Maple Dale song goes, "Maple Dale, Maple Dale, greatest school around!" - this is absolutely true because of our students, families, staff, and community!
We would be remiss if we didn't take this opportunity to say "Thank you!" We would like to thank our amazing PTO and parent community for helping end this memorable year on such a positive note with the engaging Cincinnati Children's Museum visits, the fun Nati Ninja obstacle course in PE, the hopping Spring Fling, the great Field Day, and so much more! Our PTO and our families really do help make Maple Dale the great place it is, so thank you, thank you, thank you for everything!
We wish Mrs. Johnson, Mrs. Pappas, and Mrs. Stephens a special farewell as they enter the new chapter of their life - retirement! Each of these staff members will be greatly missed but we know this is not good bye, it is "see you later." To our fourth graders, best wishes as you head to the new Greene School for 5th grade! You have all contributed so much to our school and will always be a "Male Dalian!" To our families who are moving on from Maple Dale to other schools and other states, we will miss you and your smiling faces too. Please keep in touch and best of luck to you, as well!
Families, please be sure to check your email throughout the year for occasional updates and reminders. As the next school year gets closer, our main mode of communication for information including class placement will be via email. I am available most of the summer to meet with families, take phone calls, return emails, etc. so please do not hesitate to reach out at any time with questions or concerns. We hope everyone has a safe and fantastic summer break and we can't wait to see everyone in August!
Thank you again for an amazing year,
Mindy and Keena
School Lunch Update for'22-'23
Free Meal Waivers Expire June 3, 2022 Sycamore Child Nutrition will return to pre-pandemic operations, which include charging for student meals, at the start of the 2022-23 school year. For the past two years, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has offered waivers to Child Nutrition (CN) Programs across the United States, allowing these programs to offer all students breakfast and lunch, at no charge. These waivers will expire on June 3 and will not be renewed for CN programs nationally. Families who qualify for free and reduced meals based on the income of all family members will once again be asked to complete and submit a current school year Free and Reduced Meal Application. Please look for more information after July 1 when the application period opens.
