A message from the Richland Two Teacher Forum
Richland Two Family,
I am writing to make you aware of an exciting new initiative that the Teacher Forum has launched this year. One of the core missions of the Forum is to promote the teaching profession in our District, and our Forum members realize one way to do this is by promoting the recruitment of talented individuals to be teachers. In Richland Two we are blessed to work with some of the most talented students in the nation, so the Forum has decided to develop a scholarship to be awarded to Richland Two students that are planning to pursue a career in education! The goal is to both encourage these students to work in education and, hopefully, to come home to work when they receive their college degree.
To fund the scholarship, the Forum will be hosting an online auction for Richland Two employees only from January 20th-30th. The auction consists entirely of items solicited, made or collected by members of the Teacher Forum, which means 100% of the sales from the auction will go to student scholarships. The goal of the auction is to raise enough money to fund a scholarship for a graduating Teacher Cadet at each of our District's five high schools, but to make that possible, we need your help by participating in the auction!
To get started, all you need to do is click here to access the auction website. When you go to the website, you simply register by clicking the "Register Now" button on the right side of the screen in the "Sign In" field. (you can see where to click in this presentation about the auction) The auction won't go live until January 20th, but you can start "window shopping" now in advance of the auction. Once it goes live, you can submit bids online, and the website is supposed to let you know if someone else outbids you on an item (fingers crossed!)
I sincerely hope that you will take a moment to go through the great items donated to the auction and choose to participate. If you have any questions or run into any trouble with the auction, please feel free to e-mail me at pkelly@richland2.org. Thanks for all you do for students in Richland Two!

TECHNOLOGY TIP OF THE WEEK: YOU TUBE IS NOW AVAILABLE FOR STUDENTS
Since many teachers are using Youtube as a teaching tool and students weren't able to access the videos, the district made the decision to make it available. Remind your students about the RUP. Mrs. Scott is also revisiting "appropriate" computer use in the computer lab. YouTube allows teachers to embed videos for Blended Learning opportunities in the classroom!
You may also consider using safeshare.tv to prevent your students from seeing the inappropriate comments that YouTube has on the sides of most of their videos. This safeshare site will take the YouTube link and create a safe link.
