2015 SC MIDLANDS SUMMIT: Presentation Proposal Opportunity

Have you had the opportunity to share the amazing things you are doing? This is your chance! The 4th annual SC Midlands Summit which will be held June 10-11, 2015 is accepting proposals now. We are planning for over 120 sessions throughout the two day conference focusing on the use of Google Apps for Education, research tools, digital tools, and technology integration in the classroom. so feel free to fill out the form more than once if you would be willing to share more than one presentation. Submit your presentation proposals by February 28. Notifications of acceptance or regret will be e-mailed on or before April 1. The main presenter will receive a complimentary registration.

Please join us to make this 4th annual summit a memorable experience for participants and to ensure that the conference becomes an event that all teachers in the region look forward to attending every year by filling out the 2015 SC Midlands Summit Presentation Proposal Request Form.

Help spread the word. If you know of any other presenters that would like to join us, feel free to pass on this email. Additional information about the Summit can be found at For more information, please contact Pam Hanfland.

Please remember! Dismissal announcements begin daily at 2:40pm. It is critical that all teachers check the Daily Bulletin for dismissal changes. Please make sure that your students are packed up and ready for dismissal as daycares are on our campus at 2:45pm. Thank you for your attention during dismissal announcements!

Since many teachers are using Youtube as a teaching tool and students weren't able to access the videos, the district made the decision to make it available. Remind your students about the RUP. Mrs. Scott is also revisiting "appropriate" computer use in the computer lab. YouTube allows teachers to embed videos for Blended Learning opportunities in the classroom!

You may also consider using to prevent your students from seeing the inappropriate comments that YouTube has on the sides of most of their videos. This safeshare site will take the YouTube link and create a safe link.

It's hard to believe that we have reached the 3rd nine weeks of this school year! Please use the remainder of this month to make positive contact with all of your students and their parents. This can be in the form of email, phone calls, or postcards. Please remember to log this positive communication in Log Entry in PowerSchool. This positive contact is sure to help all of our students get recharged for the 3rd nine weeks!

A Look Ahead at the Week!
