Edith Hamilton's 150th

In honor of Edith Hamilton's 150th year, Saeclum guests will toast Hamilton at her burial site and then transfer to nearby Gillette Castle for a lecture by Judith Hallet of University of Maryland, College Park.

April 18, Pof. Jan Ziolowski of Harvard will present a lecture in honor of retiring Michael Roberts, "Late Antiquity and the Invention of Textuality."
April 19, Prof. Susan Alcock of the Univ. of Michigan will give an archaeology lecture on Petra, Water, Water Everywhere -- Even at Surprisingly Green Petra."
April 24, Prof. Stephen Houston of Brown will talk on Mayan civilization, "Sizing Up: Scale and Sumptuary Privilege in Classic Maya Civilization
All three lectures are at 4:30 P.M in room 113 of Downey House.
