Parent Night-Human Trafficking

Michigan State Police Trooper, Dan Bowman, will be presenting an important informational session for our community on the topic of Human Trafficking. Trooper Bowman has shared this safety information with churches and other community groups and is eager to reach out to school groups and parents. The evening will include facts about human trafficking and ways to minimize and protect against this in the future. Trooper Bowman will share this information with our junior high students on Friday, December 1.

Hands Only CPR

Columbia Central Jr./Sr. High School is training all students in Hands-Only CPR! Dr. Campbell is an American Red Cross CPR instructor and is teaching the Hands-Only CPR. One day, one of these students may save a life!

Make-up Hours

Students who need to complete make-up hours for the first semester will be notified this week. Both students and parents will receive a letter indicating the number of hours that are REQUIRED to complete. Please contact Mrs. Wallace or Mrs. O'Neil with any questions.

Exam Week

First semester exams for high school students will begin on Tuesday, December 19 and conclude on Friday, December 22. It is so important for our students to prepare for exams as they impact their overall semester grade. Please help to encourage your child to be successful by having them study in advance and by working with their teacher through any difficulties they are having academically. We continue to offer 8th hour for students who need assistance in any class. Please contact Mrs. O'Neil or Mrs. Diefenthaler with any questions.

Donations Accepted for Fur-Ever Small Dog Rescue in Jackson

Everybody likes prizes, right? Fur-Ever Small Dog Rescue in Jackson is looking for your help in donating dog supplies. Junior high and high school students, as well as adults, are welcome to participate. Make sure to write your name on what you bring to be put in the drawing. There will be a box in the cafeteria to put your supplies in. Donations will be collected until the beginning of March. Prizes vary from graduation invitations, senior photo prints, candy, or a $10 gift card of your choosing.

Mr. Miller was honored at the November Columbia School Board meeting for his dedication and hard work in making Communication Camp a positive and beneficial program for Columbia Central High School students for the past 19 years. We are proud of you, Mr. Miller!

Welcome Mr. Cushman!

We are honored to introduce Mr. Travis Cushman as the new Biology and Anatomy teacher at Columbia Central High School. Mr. Cushman was previously a science teacher and coach with the Pittsford School District. He attended Upper Iowa University where he played on their football team. In his spare time, Mr. Cushman enjoys hunting and being with his family. Please join us in welcoming Mr. Cushman to the Columbia School District!
