First Week of School!
There are lots of ways to be involved with your student’s education, including volunteering in the classroom, on school trips or through the school’s PTA.
Find out what you need to know to volunteer here.
Why Attendance Matters
Did you know coming to school every day creates a habit that is the foundation of student success? Showing up every day builds a mindset that affects academics, social belonging and life success.
Click the video below for more information and ways to help your child be at school every day.
Mac Cheer Clinic
If your K-8 student likes to perform, consider signing them up for Mac High’s Youth Cheer Clinic, scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 10 from 1 - 3 p.m. in the MHS main gym.
Students will learn a sideline dance, cheers, jumps and stunting and perform at halftime at the Grizzly football game on Friday, Sept. 15.
Cost is $45, which includes a t-shirt and bow. ($40 without the bow.) Register here.
Track your bus!
Did you know there’s an app that can track your student’s school bus arrival? Using “FirstView” can be especially helpful during the first weeks of school as the bus routes are adjusted and updated.
New Food Vendor
MSD has partnered with the local Domino’s to offer their customized “Smart Slice” pizza in schools. The pizza, created for child nutrition programs, is made with nutrient-dense ingredients, including a whole-grain-rich crust and low-fat cheese. The pizza provides 16 grams of whole grains per serving and contains more fiber and less sodium than the previous pizza product.

Meals at Memorial and MHS
If your family qualifies for no-cost meals, you must apply if your student attends Memorial or McMinnville High School.
To prevent a meal balance on your child’s account, please apply as soon as possible.
Affordable Connectivity Program
If your family doesn’t have internet at home or needs help with a digital device, you can see if you qualify for assistance through getmyinternet.org.
Families in CEP schools (all schools *except* Memorial and McMinnville High school) can contact their school for the enrollment documentation required for the application.
Families from MHS or Memorial that qualify for no-cost lunch must fill out the fee waiver form with “other programs” also checked. Find out here how to apply and complete the fee waiver form.
