  • On Thursday of this week we have two things going on. First, the RHS choir will be touring the district performing at various locations. They will be at Cullins at 1:30 and will do two different performances. The first will be at 1:30 for PK-2 grades, the second will be at 1:50 for 3-6 grades. Specials will still take place at this time as in the normal schedule. Second, we have a PTA General meeting scheduled for this night at 6:30. Please attend if you are able. Immediately following the meeting our Kinder students will perform a music program.
  • This Saturday is the Elementary UIL competition at Utley Middle School. We are so proud of all of our students and coaches for their hard work preparing for this event. Please come out and support your students if you are available. The awards ceremony usually begins around 11:30 and takes place in the PAC.
  • Feb 23rd Staff Meeting: This day was originally supposed to be a team leader meeting. We need to review SST and RtI and will do this in a staff meeting on the 23rd. Only teaching staff needs to attend this meeting.
  • Don't forget to sign up for a volunteer spot at Perot Science Night. This is a great fun night for the kids and lots of learning too!!!
  • LIM Community Coaching Day has been moved to another location. Primary Election voting will take place on campus March 1st in the library.
  • Feb 24th Early Release Day. This day was originally scheduled as a campus professional learning day. We will use this afternoon to make-up the content that was missed during the district day yesterday. More information will come for the organization of this day.
  • February 29th through March 4th is Read Across America Week. Our FANTABULOUS librarian Gabby Brown has planned some awesome activities for the kids coinciding with Dr. Suess' birthday. Look for an email with attachment for a flyer that will go home with students. This is a great time to connect the learning in the classroom with fun Dr. Suess books!

Jill's Corner

Happy Tuesday Cullins Friends!

Well the newsletter has turned in to a Monday/Tuesday newsletter. Sorry about that!!!!

The Bairds had a busy weekend. Friday night we spent preparing for an EARLY morning dance competition on Saturday. ALL day at dance competition (and a little shopping in between). I spent Valentine's Day cleaning and organizing my messy teen's room and den area!!! She's so filthy it drives me CRAZY!!! I know, I will miss it when she is gone!

I hope the Kagan training was good for you yesterday. I really liked the new structures that were presented, they seemed like you could use them very practically to fit in lots of content!! Angela will be back with us for a coaching session this spring and she can review anything that you feel wasn't covered well. It was a weird vibe with the new presenter, but I think it went well. I was glad for you to be able to finish early and spend some time working with your team and get a head start on the TELPAS calibration testing.

I know this is the time of year when things start to get overwhelming!!! It seems like I have said that every week this year!!! We are here to support you. I'm hearing that many of you feel that too much is on your plate right now. I get it friends!!! I want to share with you something that a friend from another campus shared with me about district professional learning yesterday: "In my session at professional learning we talked about CLP and what great things you all are doing. You are the only campus that is MASTERING Kagan and LIM." So........ It may feel like you are doing a lot and not well..... But you ARE!!!! So much so that our friends are talking about how GREAT and AWESOME you are!!!!

Have a wonderful week!

Go out and BE AWESOME!!!

Loves,
Jill
