Mrs. Libby's 1st Grade Class
RE: Homework, Wish List, Volunteering and Upcoming Dates
Thanks so much for your emails and questions. I'll get right to it...
You will be getting a corrected Spelling Grid tomorrow to replace the one that you received in the sheet protector. Please disregard the first one you received and keep the second in the sheet protector and at home.
You will be doing three activities each WEEK from the grid and your child can pick ANY three. They do not have to be 3 across, down or diagonal. Just ask them to label which one they are doing at the top of their paper and then staple the three activities to the back of the homework packet (Spelling, Writing and Math pages this week). Due every Monday.
Going forward, you will need to check the class website for homework assignments and instructions: http://mrslibbysfireworks.weebly.com/homework.html
The kids will be tested every Friday on the Spelling lists for their homework. Because of the upcoming holidays, the next test day after this Friday will be September 13th.
Mrs. Libby will be updating the wish list on her website whenever she receives an item so please check there: http://mrslibbysfireworks.weebly.com/wish-list-items.html
If the item is on the website, it is still available.
If you are interested in purchasing one of the higher value items, you can email me and Joel (firstname.lastname@example.org) to make sure that the item is still available or if you just want to make a contribution to an item.
Mrs. Libby would like to have the tables wiped with antiseptic wipes in the morning. If you get to school early enough to do it, her room is open after 7:45am.
A quick vacuum over the classroom rug could be done in the mornings as well. The after school programs use our classroom, so cleaning up in the mornings is best.
3-Monday morning homework packets
Mrs. Libby could use help on Monday mornings putting together the homework packets for that day. It would require organizing, stapling and putting them into the kids homework folders.
Mrs. Libby is also looking for parents to come in and read to the kids every couple of months. I will let you know when that will start and then put it up on Sign Up Genius.
A Sign Up Genius email on volunteering opportunities will be coming to you shortly.
Have you been able to check the roster and make sure that all of your information is correct? Here is the Google Doc link again: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Ai8a-Hpq81IEdGphcU8xTmhrRDhDWUVURW5mTVRxWXc&usp=sharing
I will be forwarding the spreadsheet to the office and to Mrs. Libby by the end of the week so please let me know of any changes. I can send you an .xls or .pdf format if you prefer. Thanks!
Mrs. Libby will be going over birthday celebrations at the Back to School night (September 10th from 5:30-7:30pm). But if your child's birthday is approaching, she will contact you individually ahead of time to go over her celebration policies.
