Chapter 1: Preparing for Guided Reading
Go to this Padlet. (https://padlet.com/sjquarles/kghy0no2foep) List three literacy workstations that you would like to use the first few weeks of school. Be sure to notice that there are primary and intermediate examples in Chapter 1.
Chapter 2: Assessment and Grouping
In the Today's Meet link, talk about how often you assess whole group, small group and individual students. What do you do with this information? How is it communicated to parents? What do you do if a kiddo is reading on a level 14 for 4 weeks?
Chapter 3, 4, 5 & 6
Kindergarten, First, and SPED Teachers-
After reading chapter 3 and 4, make a spreadsheet of all of the activities that are mentioned. Create columns to represent what activity will be used, with which leveled group, what materials will be needed, and if you have those materials or need those materials.
2nd Grade Teachers-
After reading chapter 4 and 5, make a spreadsheet of all of the activities that are mentioned. Create columns to represent what activity will be used, with which leveled group, what materials will be needed, and if you have those materials or need those materials.
3rd, 4th and 5th ELA Teachers-
After reading chapter 5 and 6, make a spreadsheet of all of the activities that are mentioned. Create columns to represent what activity will be used, with which leveled group, what materials will be needed, and if you have those materials or need those materials.
