William Shakespeare
William Shakespeare was an English poet, playwright, and actor, widely regarded as the greatest writer in the English language and the world's pre-eminent dramatist. He was born in April of 1564. At the age of 18, he married a woman named Anne and they had 3 children together. He is often called England's national poet, and the "Bard of Avon".
Shakespeare produced most of his known work between 1589 and 1613. His early plays were mostly comedies and histories, and these are regarded as some of the best work ever produced in these genres. After these plays he mostly wrote problem plays. The problems plays did not fit into the traditional genre of his time period.
