Congratulation to Mrs. Wendy Castillo!
Wendy Castillo, LCSW, is the Teen Parent Coordinator and a Social Worker for the RRISD Teen Parent Program where she has worked for the past ten years. She was recognized by the University of Texas at Austin at the 2019 Texas School Social Workers Conference for her outstanding service in school social work. One of her many contributions to the program began when the program transitioned to a greater focus on maternal mental health and the impact on graduation rates. With this catalyst, she created a Postpartum Kit to give to each student following delivery. The kit includes a booklet on postpartum care, items useful in breastfeeding, pads, essential oils, hair ties, cozy socks, a water bottled labeled "Hello Gorgeous", and, of course, chocolate! Not only did she create these kits, but also single-handedly found a donor to fund and create sustainability for this incredible project.

What is your position at Stony Point? World History teacher and Football/Girls Soccer Coach
What do you love about your job? I love being able to challenge students to be the best version of themselves everyday. Everyone wants to improve in some way or another, and I believe that I'm in the perfect place to help students achieve their goals.
What are your hobbies? I enjoy reading, golfing, hunting, and cooking. But my favorite hobby is going to be being a dad to my son.

Tigers on Time Information
If you are picking up your student from school, here's the 411 to make your life easier!
- Send a signed note with your student indicating what time they will be picked up. Have them bring the note to the front office BEFORE SCHOOL to obtain a pass from class. They'll be waiting for you in the office when you arrive. (Optional form is attached for your convenience.)
- Car traffic is not allowed while the buses are out front. Pick up before 3:55 pm.
- ONLY those individuals listed on your student's file, with photo ID, will be permitted to sign them out of school. Phone calls and email requests will not be accepted. Prepare now by coming in person with photo ID to add authorized adults to pick up your student. See Mrs. Arzola or Mrs. Gamboa to add authorized adults.
- If your student is driving, then still send a note but be specific in stating that you give them "permission to drive themselves off campus". List your phone number so that we can call you to verify. Have them come by the office before school for a pass.
IB Students, stay in the loop.

This isn’t your typical scholarship program. It doesn’t require an essay or an application, and it doesn’t have a minimum GPA or SAT score requirement. See website for more information!
