Come out and help support J.O. Wilson ES
Cardinal Families,
Every year the amazing PTA of J.O. Wilson ES helps to support our Cardinals to SOAR by bringing the best academic and extra-curricular opportunities to our students. Each year we have been supported by our parents, staff, and community members through multiple fundraisers to help fundraise for these opportunities for the students.
With this being said, we are asking families and community members to come out today to The Old City Market and Oven, between 12 noon -8PM, and with any menu items purchased, 25% of the proceeds will be donated to the JOW PTA. Be sure to mention that you are with J.O. Wilson ES when making your purchase. Delivery items will not count toward the fundraiser.

DCPS IMPACT Aide Survey
Cardinal Families,
Each year, DCPS asks all families to complete the Impact Aid survey to generate additional federal funds for DCPS. This year, the survey will be available in both an electronic format using the Seamless platform as well as hard copies. All eligible applications received by December 22, 2021, will be submitted as part of the initial application due on January 31, 2022.
All DCPS families should complete one survey per child, not household, in their preferred language until May 30, 2022, as we can include these in our amendment. Please refer to this FAQ document for additional guidance. Each child will be sent home with a paper survey to complete and return to their school's business manager. If a family prefers to complete the survey electronically, they can utilize the links below. Only one method of submission should be utilized to avoid duplicate submissions.
Hard copies have been sent home with students however if you'd like to submit an electronic copy please click here (https://dcps.dc.gov/page/dcps-impact-aid-survey) to access the form.

State Board of Education Star Framework Survey for Families!
The D.C. State Board of Education (SBOE) invites District families and residents to complete a 6-minute survey. The purpose of this family/general public survey is to better understand D.C. residents’ experiences with the District’s school accountability system—the School Transparency and Reporting (STAR) Framework—as we consider what, if any, changes should be made to it. We recommend that you use a computer or tablet to fill out this survey. Thank you for taking the time to fill this out, and please know your identity will remain anonymous.
We ask that you submit responses no later than November 17 at 5 p.m. If you have any questions, please reach out to the State Board at darren.fleischer@dc.gov.
