Dear Belle Air Families:
Thank you to all the Belle Air staff, teachers, parents and students for working together to make this first week of school so successful. We overcame many struggles together as a team and I thank everyone for their hard work and patience as we tackle the demands of distance learning.
Attendance
All schools are tracking attendance and engagement/participation. Teachers are submitting daily attendance; if a child is not showing up in the 9:00am class Zoom meeting, they will be marked absent. It is important to remember that attendance rules and policies will be adhered to in the same manner as if children were on campus. Parents are to call the office and notify the teacher if they anticipate their child will be absent for any reason. Students will be marked as unexcused if there isnโt communication between home and school. This is important for your childโs success. If you are having problems with the schedule, please contact your childโs teacher. If your child is in need of a device, please call the office to schedule a time for pick up.
PTA
We have a wonderful and supportive parent volunteer community and are looking for volunteers to serve as officers. Our first meeting will be virtual. Stay tuned for more information.
Monday Morning Meetings:
Beginning September 14, I will be hosting school wide virtual meetings with students and teachers Monday mornings at 9:00am.
Back to School Packets
All paper work is now due to the school office. Please call the office to schedule a time to drop off.
Meal Distribution
Free for all students 18 and under. Now available at Belle Air every morning from 8:00am - 9:00am. Afternoon pick up available at Parkside from 2:00 - 3:30pm.
Immunizations
As a reminder, all immunizations must be up to date prior to students returning to campus. First graders must have a TB Risk Assessment or test completed as well.
Virtual Principal Chat
Our first principal chat will be Tuesday, September 8 at 8:30am - 9:00am. The purpose of the virtual chat is to share information, have your questions answered and to discuss ways to make our distance learning experience even better. See link below.

Whether your child is in a SEAL classroom or not, you are welcome to take a look around. Be sure to check out the Free Online Book Sites page, which has several links to online read alouds. School Site Council
WHAT IS THE SCHOOL SITE COUNCIL?
The primary task of the School Site Council (SSC) is to work with the principal to develop, review and evaluate Belle Air's school improvement programs and school budget.
MEMBERSHIP
The members of the council should represent all of the segments of the Belle Air community. It is composed of the principal, teachers, other school personnel, and parents and/or community members for a total of 6 members.
PURPOSE
The purpose of the School Site Council is to ensure the school is continually engaged in identifying and implementing curriculum and instructional practices that result in both strengthening the core academic program and ensuring that students have access to and success in that program. The team ensures this through the development and monitoring of the SPSA (School Plan for Student Achievement).
WHAT IS INVOLVED
Information at meetings will be provided to inform parents in curricular areas, testing results, standards, frameworks and other areas as needed. School Site Council meetings are typically 3-5 times per school year with a minimum of one each trimester.
