Horses and Watts

This article talkes about how James Watt invented the watt. He compared the power of a steam engine with the horses power. This took place in the 1800's and in that time horses and ponies pulled a lot of things. He measured the loads weight and how much the horse pulled up in a minute. He said that 750 watts (W) equalled one horsepower (hp). He figured that out by doing the math with the ft-lb of the load.

Now you know a little about James Watt and watts!
