Lions Ledger
Patriot Elementary School October 2019
A Message From Our Principal
Parents and families,
As I look outside, I see leaves falling and pumpkins on porches. The weather is changing, and it is hard to believe that we have been in school for over a month. Time flies when you have this much fun!
The first 9 weeks ends on October 11th; it will be here faster than we know. Report cards will be handed out during parent conferences which will be held on October 15th and 16th. Teachers will be sending conference times and dates. We look forward to seeing each of you at Patriot, and please stop by if you have any questions.
Please don't forget to ensure students dress in layers this time of year or bring a jacket and hat. It seems to be cool in the morning, warm up through the day, and sometimes snowing by the time we release in the afternoon.
As always, please drop by the office or call if you ever need anything. Thank you!
Mrs. Canon
Principal

Fire Prevention Week
In the light of Fire Prevention week, we are very lucky to have the fire department come to Patriot and teach our students about fire safety.
For K-2 this will include a short presentation by the fire department followed by a tour of a fire truck or engine.
For our 3-5 grade students in addition to the presentation and fire truck tour, students will have the opportunity to participate in a fire drill. The fire department will bring their "Smoke House" and students will attend a class during which fake smoke will fill the classroom. Students will practice to exit through windows and doors and meet at their meeting point.
