Wellness Theme of the Month: Balance

Remembering to have balance in your life is important to keep in mind and essential for personal effectiveness, peace of mind, and living well. It helps us to accomplish the various responsibilities that we have to juggle in our everyday lives. Watch the following link to gain tips on how to create more balance in our lives.

March is Course Request Season!

March is course request month which means the counselors will be visiting 9th, 10th, and 11th grade classes the first three weeks of March to discuss course selection for the 2018-2019 school year. We will be providing students with a transcript, four year plan and instructions on how to use the course request system in MyPlan.

Counselors will be hosting our annual Parent Open House days in the Westview Staff Lounge to answer questions about course selection on Monday, March 26 from 3:30 – 6:00pm and Wednesday, March 28 from 7:30 – 9:30am. Reserve your time slot.

Additional resources and information can be found at:

4-year Planning Workshop are also available on the Westview Counseling website, under Presentations. This workshop gives you an in-depth look at how to use the 4-yr plan to review credits, graduation requirements, and college entrance requirements.

Choosing classes that align with your future!

Planning for our futures is something that we should start thinking about today. High school is an important time to take courses that align with your interests to see what you want to pursue in your future. The following link below is great tool designed by College Board that allows you to start researching a variety of majors and college options that align with your interests. Take some time to review what majors interest you based of your interest. Doing this makes the course selection process easier as well, as it allows you to take classes that might connect with a possible major you are interested in.
