SMES Saints Scoop
Updates and Reminders: October 31, 2021
Dear SMES Families,
Dear SMES Families,
Here are a few updates for the week:
Congratulations to Alexis Kemp for winning our 1st Quarter Volunteer Drawing, a $25 Visa Gift Card!
A huge "Thank You!" goes out to everyone who has given their valuable time to volunteer at SMES so far this year! We would also like to remind everyone to CLICK HERE to check out all of our classroom and library volunteer opportunities, and please remember to enter the next quarter's drawing every time you volunteer.
November 1 we will celebrate Fall with Pumpkins and Pajamas. Since tomorrow is the day after Halloween. The younger grades will do activities with a pumpkin theme. All students may wear pajamas. No students need to bring in their Halloween candy :).
SMES currently qualifies as a Title 1 school. Parents have a right to know the qualifications of all staff working in a Title I school. Please visit our website, and click on the Title I link to see the 'Parent's Right to Know' letter to learn more.
Thank you so much to the students in the video, for their kind words in celebration of National Principals Month. I am so grateful to work with such an amazing community of students, staff and families.
Thank you for your continued support. Do not hesitate to reach out to me with questions. (ibullock@talbotschools.org, 410-745-2882)
Have a great week!
Sincerely,
Dr. Bullock, Proud SMES Principal

Mrs. Breeding's October Message
Hello SMES Families! For the month of October, classroom guidance lessons have covered anti-bullying information for students. Lessons started this past week to coincide with Unity Week.
While October lessons will wrap up this week, 4th and 5th grade will participate in Red Ribbon Week. They will have some brief classroom discussion about staying alcohol and drug-free. They will have activities to complete and will watch some brief videos and presentations on this topic!
As always, please reach out to me with any questions or concerns at cbreeding@talbotschools.org or 410-745-2882.
