Resource Spotlight - What is Second Step?

Second Step is a program designed to increase students’ school success by promoting social-emotional competence and self-regulation that we use at New Lebanon School.

We want your child to be as successful as possible at school. Success in school is not just about reading and math. It is also about knowing how to learn and how to get along with others. At New Lebanon School, we use the Second Step program in grades K-5 to teach these critical skills.

How Social-Emotional Learning Helps Children Succeed in School, the Workplace, and Life is an ebook that I’ve attached here for you to use a reference. You will also find a K-5 scope and sequence document for easy reference by grade level.

A Reminder about the Conference Surveys

Thank you to everyone who filled out the pre-conference and post-conference surveys this week. If your conference is next week, please see copies of the forms below. You can leave them with the teacher or on the table at the front of the school.
