The Varsity Baseball team competed in the Bandera Tournament this past weekend. The Panthers earned their way to the championship game, but Mother Nature decided to end the chances for the Championship. Just before game time, the contest was called due to wet weather.
The Panthers ended up 3 and 1 in the tournament. Leading hitters were Grant Snider, with a .550 average, Garrett Leggitt, who blasted a home run, and Aaron Sotelo, with a 5 RBI game. Trey Marty added a walk-off single to defeat Burbank High School.
On the hill, the Panthers were led by Zach Hecker's no-hit shutout. Also picking up wins were Dylan Fillinger and JJ Marty.

JV and Freshman Baseball
February 26, 2019
The Panthers JV Baseball team took on the Clemens Buffaloes JV last night. After a slow start the Panthers rebounded and competed well vs. the Buffaloes. Offensively the Panthers were lead by Jeremy Carrion and Tanner Haby. Jeremy had a perfect night at the plate, scoring 1 run, and collecting an RBI. Tanner also had an RBI, on double in the 3rd inning.
Aiden Patterson shut down the Buffalo bats giving up 0 runs over 2 innings. The slow start was too much for the young Panthers to overcome and dropped the game 7 - 2.
Tuesday evening the Freshman Panthers hosted the Clemens Buffaloes. Thomas Pardo started the game on the mound with Javi Gonzalez coming in relief. Clemens struck early offensively which gave the Panthers an up hill battle. Though The Buffs were up by 6 at one point the Panthers kept clawing back into the game with their bats and speed on the bases. Leading the team offensively was DJ McCulley who would go 2-2 with an rbi, 2 steals and got on base every at bat. Thomas Pardo also swung it well going 2-3 and a stolen base. Jake Herb, Nick Rash, and Ace Anderson all also all helped out with a hit in the game. Unfortunately for the Panthers an end of the game rally by Clemens would keep the Panthers away from victory.
March 1, 2019
Friday night the freshman baseball team hosted the Tivy Antlers. Jake Herb started on the mound putting up a scoreless first inning. Unfortunately the 2nd inning had a few hits, errors, and defensive mistakes that gave the Antlers a 6-0 lead in the 2nd. The Panthers would chip away at the Antlers throughout the rest of the ballgame making the game within reach. The offensive attack was lead by Bobby Peterson with a triple and double along with getting deep in counts and a careful eye by Ace Anderson and Thomas Pardo. In the last inning the Antlers were up three. With Bobby Peterson making it on base along with Jake Herb set up Javi Gonzales for a couple RBIs. The Panthers were able to tie the game on a hit by Cristian "Remi" Colon and then win it with an Ace Anderson and Thomas Pardo walk 7-6.
