Cyrus was the lydian king. He secured control of Aegean coast of Asia Minor,Armenia, and the greek colonies over levant. He captured Babylon in 539 and released the Jews that were captured there. Cyrus the great is most known for being the founder of Achaemenid Empire.

Accomplishments

Cyrus was the first king of a empire not to have slaves. Cyrus the great defeated Croesus the Lydian king of fabled wealth. Cyrus the great conquered the Medes and untied the Iranian people under one ruler for the first time.

Was he a good leader?

He is considered one of the greatest kings.
