DECEMBER 14, 2018

Over the month of December, we have enjoyed many activities celebrating our CUES family. Students and staff have been sending messages of appreciation and kindness to one another. These messages have have enhanced the positive relationships in our building.

We would like to thank Mrs. Pfister, Mrs. Schatzle and the entire Student Council for their time, dedication, and positive energy in organizing our Holiday Giving Project. We are also working very hard to have another successful food drive. Additionally, Mrs. Schatzle gathered organizations in our community to support families in need during the holidays. These families will receive food and gifts for their Christmas. We appreciate Mrs. Schatzle and all of the community organizations for their hard work sharing resources with our community.

This will be our final newsletter for 2018. We are so grateful for this community and the outstanding students we have at CUES. The relationships we share with them are the foundation for our positive school culture. Thank you to all of our CUES families for your continued support.

I wish you all the best over the holidays and throughout the New Year.

Big picture

Our Robotics Team, The Intergalactic Beastie Bots, comprised of 4th-6th graders, recently competed and qualified for the First Lego League State Competition! We are so proud of all those students involved! The team members include Caden Alexander, Cassidy Cole, Ashton Fields, Samuel Griffin, Nathan Harris, Bryson Hitt, Parker Mooney and Joseph Willaert. Thank you to Chris Holbert for leading this dynamic group.

The team had 4 chances to run their robot on the tabletop challenge to try to get as many points as possible. In addition, students were judged on the First Robotics Core Values, their Team Project, and their robot build and programming. All aspects of the judging and competition were weighted and crucial to team placement.

It's a Great Day to be a Golden Eagle!

Special Holiday Luncheon

Students were invited to enjoy our free special holiday lunch tomorrow. The menu included turkey gravy, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, cranberries, fresh rolls and apple crisp for dessert. Staff members volunteered to serve the students. A great time was had by all!

Thank you so much to our Food Service staff including Marilyn Holcomb, Tina Marquardt, Pinky Staub and Ashley Weber for preparing this extra special meal. We are so grateful!
