Staff and students across the district wore red today in memory of the former District 41 student who tragically passed away earlier this week. Deepest condolences to the family and friends who are greatly impacted by this loss. They are in our thoughts during this difficult time.

SIP Day on April 18 and Non-Attendance Day on April 19

Thursday, April 18 is a SIP Day. Students in grades 1-8 will have early dismissal at 11:30 a.m. to allow time for District staff to work on school improvement activities. Please note that half-day students (Early Childhood Special Education, Pre-K, and Kindergarten) do not attend school on SIP days. For the full list of 2018-19 SIP days, Click Here.


In addition, Friday, April 19 is a Non-Attendance Day in District 41. Schools will be closed.

New Board Members Elected

Congratulations to the newly elected Board of Education members Jessica Buttimer, Ted Estes and Julie Hill. Our new Board members will be officially welcomed at a reorganization meeting on Thursday, April 25, 7 p.m. at the Central Services Office, 793 N. Main Street, Glen Ellyn. The meeting is open to the public. Each new member will serve a four-year term.

New Student Business at Hadley

Mrs. Ruschke's Hadley math class has started a business at school. On Wednesdays and Fridays, staff are able to purchase coffee, tea or hot chocolate. Students are responsible for taking orders and making deliveries. To date the students have earned $152 which is used to refill supplies and to help Circle of Friends supply gift cards for the Down Syndrome Awareness day prizes. Great job, students!

Churchill Broadcast Club Visits WGN

Mrs. Crouch and the Churchill Broadcast Club visited WGN Studios in Chicago this week! 1st through 5th graders toured the studio operations and live sets to see how tv programs are produced. Thank you to WGN employee and Churchill parent Aline Cox for organizing the event. Thank you also to the Churchill PTA for sponsoring the trip.
