Hello to our Lighthouse Families,
The school year is off to a great start! It is fun to see students and teachers reconnecting. I enjoyed meeting the students and look forward to getting to know each one. It is clear that Lighthouse is a close community, and I am so excited to be a part of it.
Student learning plans are beginning to take shape and will continue to solidify over the coming days. Please take time to help your child(ren) figure out what they may want to study this trimester for their inquiry. Typically, an inquiry starts off broad and narrows through the inquiry process.
A couple of reminders:
- Face masks are required for all students grades 1-12 at Lighthouse as Anoka County COVID-19 transmission remains high.
- Students can be dropped off each day after 7:45 a.m. with school beginning at 8:10 a.m.
- At the end of the day, students who ride the bus will be dismissed at 2:55 p.m., and parent pick up will begin at 3 p.m. Students being picked up will come outside to meet their parents.
- If there is a change in transportation for your child(ren), please make sure to call the Lighthouse office and let us know.
We’re excited to be back in school and looking forward to what comes next. We will be in touch with updates as routines and learning get underway. Have a great week!
Best,
Lisa Cisewski
Voluntary, free COVID-19 testing
Voluntary COVID-19 testing will be offered every other week at Spring Lake Park Schools. Students whose families wish them to complete a test may stop by the health office in their school building on scheduled test days to pick up a test kit. Saliva tests will be taken home and completed online via Zoom with a Vault supervisor. Test kits will then be returned to the health office the next day for shipment to the lab. Late test kits cannot be accepted. Instructions on how to login to Zoom are included with each test kit. The first test day is Monday, September 13.
Please contact the Lead Nurse, Becca Williams, with any questions.
