Thank you Cary for doing the walker door all year:)
Reminder
Please remember that IEPs and 504s are legal documents and must be adhered to by all educators. If you have a student that receives special education services you must follow the accommodations/modifications and work with the student at their level to support them in the regular education classroom. SAME with 504 students. We must provide accommodations as listed on the plan. It is good to review these documents throughout the year to ensure you are in compliance.
Stars and Wish
Stars:
- 2nd grade has the sweetest writings and pictures being done on their best friends. A graphic organizer was used to organize their thoughts, conferencing occurred with the teacher before the final draft was completed - and some great portraits were created! Fun idea before Valentine's Day.
- Walking through the hallways is so impressive. We have some creative teachers and smart kids:)
- It is great to see teachers listening intently during read aloud and discussion time with guided reading groups or book clubs and taking anecdotal notes to reference strengths and needs of the students. I've also noticed during math workshop time as well - great informal data that can be easily accessed and used when creating groups and addressing specific needs of students.
Wish:
- 3rd quarter is a rough time for schools in general. Academics and behavior can change greatly during this time. It might be a good time to make another positive deposit with families.
Best Attendance
1st - Brady
2nd - Craig
3rd - Hightower
Our building average is 93% - Yikes - this is really low!
