Cafe Review
As you all are aware, Mashburn was chosen for a café review the week of March 16th. This review is very important and entails quite a bit of work on our amazing café staff, therefore we asking that you do not schedule any field trips the week of March 16th. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
We Have a New Blue Bear!!! Welcome Jacob Brandon Clack!!!
Technology Night
Please join us for Technology Night on Thursday, January 16th from 6:00-7:40. Todd Shirley, FCSS Chief Operations Officer, will be speaking about the dangers of certain apps, as well as school consequences for misuse. The stories relayed are actual experiences in School Safety and real to FCSS. You do not want to miss this powerful presentation!
Also, students will get an opportunity to choose a couple of technology rotations, as well as practice sharing their science fair projects with other families! We hope to see you then!

New Lunchroom Procedure
This is just a reminder that we are starting with our new lunch procedures tomorrow. We are asking that you please eat with your class this week. This is the perfect time to show them where their new table will be and to put your students in a seating chart if needed. Please remind them of the café expectations and help reinforce them while they are in there. We all appreciate your help and support with this. The tables will be numbered tomorrow. If you have students that will sit at the overflow table, please have them sit to the side closest to the wall.
Cafe Expectations
-Please make sure that when you walk your kids into the cafeteria that you drop them off with Officer Dave or Amber Litzinger. Please do not just drop them off at the courtyard doors.
Student Expectations:
- Always walk – no running.
- Level 1 voice or Level 0 voice during quiet time
- Get sporks, ketchup, napkins, etc before you sit down. Lunch monitors will not be getting this for the students and students will not be allowed to get up to get any items.
- There will be no more water cups offered after students sit down. Students must get a drink from the lunch line or bring a water bottle

Flippity
Flippity is a series of online apps that turns what you enter into a Google Sheets template into online games. Games include a Jeopardy-style quiz show, interactive flashcards, crossword puzzles, online Bingo boards, MadLibs, and quizzes that generate a certificate when completed. Get started by going to Flippity.net and choosing a template. You’ll be prompted to make a copy. A Google Sheets document will open with sample information that you replace with your own. The document will include directions. Before you can publish as a game, you must go to the File menu and choose Publish to the web. Clicking the Publish button will allow Flippity to access the data and create the game for you. Flippity provides a web link and QR code you can use to share your game with others.
