7th & 8th GRADE SCHOOL DANCE
There will be a dance December 6th. The dance will be held in the middle school cafeteria from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Please make sure your parent is at the school by 9:00 p.m. to pick you up. The cost is $5. Concessions will be available to purchase. In order to attend the dance you must be in school all day, unless you have a pre-approved excused absence from Mr. Slavik. If you have been in, In School Suspension or were suspended from school the week of the dance, you will not be able to attend the dance. You must be dress code compliant. All proceeds from the dances go to the Music Boosters to support our music programs.

Toys For Tots
The Student Council has a Toys for Tots campaign taking place November 25th through December 10th. Students are encouraging their peers to donate a new, unwrapped present to help those children in our community that are less fortunate. Gifts are being collected for children from birth to 16 years old. The grade level that collects the most gifts will be allowed to take their cell phone to lunch on Friday December 13th. Hopefully, the students at DLPMS will show their compassion by donating a toy.

Mrs. Goward's Consumer Education Class
Special thanks to Kristen Winn, Branch Manager of Alma Mercantile Bank, and Tammy Reeves, Ithaca Mercantile Bank. On October 24th they visited Mrs. Goward's Consumer Education eight grade class. They taught a lesson in "Budgeting for the Real World," as part of the Get Smart About Credit program sponsored by the American Bankers Association. The class enjoyed playing a game that involved randomly assigned scenarios and the planned and "unplanned" expenses they may encounter. We look forward to having them return in the future.

December Music Booster Meeting
The December Alma Music Booster Meeting will be held on Monday, December 2, at 7:00 p.m. in the Alma High School band room.
Scrip
We would like to encourage you one more time to consider purchasing and using Scrip. Scrip, the Music Boosters’ ongoing fund raiser, is unique because the Boosters aren’t asking our students to sell anything. Rather, the Boosters are asking you to purchase a gift card to a retail store from which you plan to purchase items on a regular basis. Many people give gift cards as Christmas presents. Consider purchasing these through the Music Boosters this year. Money earned from Scrip can be used toward any music related expenses for your child. Scrip can be ordered/purchased at the Alma Sewing Center during regular business hours or online once an account has been set up. For more information visit almamusicboosters.org or contact Leslie Love, leslie.c.love@gmail.com.
December Choir Performances
On Wednesday, December 11th the Middle School and High School choirs will be performing their Holiday Concert at 7:00 p.m. in the high school auditorium. The students will be singing traditional holiday carols as well as some newer selections that are sure to become favorites. We will be closing this year’s concert with an invitation for all Alma High School Choir Alumni to join us on stage as we sing Silent Night. So, round up those choir alumni and join us for an evening of beautiful music.
