LMASD Newsletter
November 5, 2020
Dear LMASD Families & Staff,
These are certainly challenging times and nothing we could have predicted. Now more than ever, careful planning and hearing the voice of all stakeholders is important.
In addition to responding to the current crisis, the District is reaching out to all District residents, including parents and staff, to gather input regarding what the District is doing well, where improvements can be made, and priorities for future planning with a community-wide survey.
We have hired School Perceptions, an independent educational research firm, to conduct the survey and ensure all responses are kept confidential. We are asking that all parents and staff respond to a survey that will be emailed out in the coming weeks from School Perceptions.
To ensure data integrity, each survey invitation/link code can only be used once. As such, you must access the survey through your email invitation, not a forwarded email or link. The survey access number will not identify you; it simply links you to the District's survey.
However, the software is able to track survey completion via the link code and encourage the participation of non-respondents. School Perceptions’ privacy policy guarantees your email address will not be used/shared for any purpose other than the contracted survey.
The survey will be open through November 30 at 5:00 PM. If you do not receive an email invitation to complete the survey please check your “spam/junk” folder and then contact me for assistance.
Sincerely,
Dr. Tonya Olson
Back In-Person on Tuesday, November 10!
I want to extend my gratitude for the flexibility of our community during this temporary shift to virtual instruction. With positive COVID cases rising in the community and the onset of the flu season, we are doing our best to keep our staff and students healthy. The majority of positive COVID cases we are currently seeing is from contact with extended family members. In order to help us maintain in-person instruction, remember the three "W"s: Wash your hands, Watch your distance, Wear a face covering. Keep your circles small so that we can remain in-person!

COVID-19 Dashboard Information
On Tuesday, November 10, 38 students and 12 staff members will have completed their quarantines to return to in-person instruction.
In order to maintain privacy, LMASD will only report District-level Quarantine and COVID-19 Positive numbers when cases are less than 5. Numbers less than 5 will be represented as an asterisk (*). When cases are greater than 5, more detailed information will be shared.
Quarantine: Applies to students/staff who are not able to attend school because they have been identified as having close contact with someone that has been confirmed to have COVID-19 which requires a quarantine period depending on the type of contact (household or school).
