From the Principal

Thank you to all families for your participation in conferences. We hope you received valuable information about your child's progress in school. We appreciate your continued partnership in your child's education! Also, a huge thank you to the PTO and all parents who contributed to our conference dinner and snacks. Although it's a long day for staff, having a delicious meal and snacks is wonderful!

Tonight is the Kick-A-Thon at North High School. Thank you to Mrs. Naatz for holding the Ferson banner with members of our Student Leadership Club! If you didn't get a chance to donate to the cause, and would still like to, you can find the PushCoin link here.

In case you missed it, the PTO has shifted to a new platform, Membership Toolkit. If you haven't take time to create an account, you can find directions here. This is how you can opt in to the directory as well as receive regular PTO communication. The next PTO meeting is Thursday, October 27th at 9:30 am here at Ferson.

We are looking forward to our FEARson Trick-or-Treating event next Friday, October 14th. Thank you to everyone who has planned the event, donated items, and decorated doors!

Lastly, our Lost & Found is OVERFLOWING! There are a ton of nice sweatshirts and jackets just waiting to be returned to their owners. If your child is missing anything, please have them take a look on the tables in the foyer. A few pictures of the items are below. All unclaimed items will be donated during Thanksgiving break.

Enjoy your long weekend,

Kristy McKnight

Halloween at Ferson Creek

Halloween is just around the corner! We will celebrate Halloween on Monday, October 31st. This year, we will hold our Halloween parade outside at 1:45 pm. Parents are welcome to view the parade from the blacktop area behind the school. In the event of inclement weather, the parade will move to the gym. Classroom celebrations will take place after the parade. While wearing costumes is optional, there are a few guidelines:

  • Props representing weapons are not allowed.
  • Students should not wear costumes which promote gore, violence, or inappropriate imagery.
  • No costume face coverings or masks can be worn.

October 31st – Classroom Celebrations

Pre-arranged volunteers should plan to sign in and have their license scanned, and get their visitor’s badges just prior to the start of the classroom celebrations. Our celebrations are scheduled from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM.

Veterans Day Assembly

We are excited to welcome back our in-person Veterans Day assembly. This year we will be celebrating Veterans Day on November 11th! Veterans Day is a day set aside to honor American veterans of all wars. Many of us know or have known men and women in our families or friends who have served in the armed forces to defend our country. This year we would like to take time to honor these individuals by acknowledging their time served and to honor them at an assembly beginning at 9:00 am on that day.

If there is a veteran that you would like to recognize by having them included in our Veterans Day video, please email our LRC director Renee Ignoffo at sharon.ignoffo@d303.org. In your email, please include your child's name, the veteran's name, the veteran's relation to your child, a picture of the veteran, and branch of the military. Please send all pictures to Mrs. Ignoffo no later than Tuesday, November 1st.

If your child has someone in your family, or a friend of your family, who they would like to invite to attend our assembly please rsvp to Audrey Hughes at audrey.hughes@d303.org, no later than Friday, November 4th so that we can plan accordingly.

Big Hearts of Fox Valley Week

Big Hearts of Fox Valley Week will be celebrated throughout the City of

St. Charles the week of October 10-16th!

Big Hearts of Fox Valley is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization making a difference in our own community by brightening the lives of D303 children affected by financial hardship at Christmas time and throughout the school year.

Please bring in a NEW unwrapped toy or board game during this week to show your support for D303 kids in need. Each school will be collecting these items for the annual Big Hearts Toy Drive. We also encourage you to wear RED on Friday to help raise awareness for Big Hearts of Fox Valley.

To learn more about Big Hearts of Fox Valley and to make a much needed donation visit their website at bigheartsfv.org.

Thank you for helping to make Christmases brighter, winters warmer and every day easier for kids in need in D303.
