Muertos". It is the traditional hispanic celebration around the end
of October and the first of November which focuses on remembering
family and friends who have passed. Loved ones use flowers, candles,
food, drinks, alters, and decorations often incorporating skulls and
skeletons to try to connect with the spirits. Face painting,
costumes, and parades are all part of the festivities. In class,
students made pictures or "calacas" (hand-made figures out of dough)
to help celebrate!
