Olympians Visiting Hopewell-Loudon

H-L High School students were lucky enough to have former 1984 Olympic Men's Basketball Team member Jon Koncak on campus to talk about Olympic values. He was then nice enough to stay after and shoot around with some of our students. Thank you to Tiffin University and our local sponsors for organizing this event!

TAG 7 English and Reading Class

The 7th grade students in Mrs. Arnold's TAG 7 English and Reading classes performed Edgar Allen Poe's "The Tell Tale Heart" for Halloween. Also, the students listened to famous actors read Poe's work "The Raven" as they looked for examples of figurative language and poetic techniques.

Spanish Class

Students in Spanish classes have been learning about "Los Dias de los
Muertos". It is the traditional hispanic celebration around the end
of October and the first of November which focuses on remembering
family and friends who have passed. Loved ones use flowers, candles,
food, drinks, alters, and decorations often incorporating skulls and
skeletons to try to connect with the spirits. Face painting,
costumes, and parades are all part of the festivities. In class,
students made pictures or "calacas" (hand-made figures out of dough)
to help celebrate!
