Ring Leader Tidbits
~ Welcome back and happy 2019!! I hope you all had a wonderful break with family, friends and relaxation! I know it was hard pushing through and having class until the 21st, but that long break after Christmas sure was nice!
~ Dr. Chadwell had to change his visit. He will be here on Friday instead of Wednesday. Jeans on Friday ARE still ok. We will be walking around and visiting classrooms. Please feel free to let me know if you have something special planned, and we will be sure to stop in.
~Our growth mindset assembly is today (Monday) at 1:45!
~ Teachers, just a reminder to make sure you are entering your grades for EVERY subject in the timely manner. As you know, I have to complete grade book audits each 3 weeks, and as we have gotten further into the semester, there are less and less grades entered for certain subjects. Remember, per the grading handbook, one content grade per subject per week has to be entered. Thanks for remembering this and ensuring you are following the guidelines. :)
School Bulletin
~ As many of you know, our former student, Kevin Gonzalez, passed away over the break. For those of you who are new and were not aware, Kevin was a student here in 3rd grade and was diagnosed with leukemia. When Dozier opened, and the bilingual program moved, he transferred to Dozier. He went into remission but then relapsed this summer before starting 6th grade. He was never healthy enough to start at Creekview, and he lost his battle last weekend. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers. It's so devastating to lose a child, and I can't imagine what his family is going through during this difficult time.
~Testing season is upon us! Please know that with benchmarks coming up, we will be adjusting and tweaking certain schedules to accommodate testing. Our benchmarks are in February, and we will simulate it like a real STAAR day. This might mean that certain specialist teachers, specials teachers, etc. might need to assist in testing. Thank you for always being flexible to help accommodate our testing kiddos.
~ Walkthroughs and TTESS observations will pick up again this week. Kathleen and I both would like to get these completed by the end of February, so that we can have more time to prepare for testing.
