Creekside eLearning Update
May 17, 2020
Administrative Update
Our eLearning plans this week will take us through the remainder of the school year and include work for May 19th - 21st.
May 21st will be a fun activity day for our 6th and 7th graders. Be on the lookout for the grade level activity in your announcements and Canvas classes from teachers.
A parade is planned for May 21st at 1:00 pm at Creekside. The parade will be in the front parking lot. Come drive through our normal drop-off route and wave goodbye to the 2020 school year.
Our 8th graders' last day will be Wednesday, May 20, which is also the date of their promotion. The virtual ceremony will take place at 7:00 pm. The video link will be emailed out in advance of the event and will also be available on our school website, YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter.
Incompletes and Grades
Final Grades
You will notice that grades for the 4th quarter, and rotation 5 exploratories, will be marked with a “P” for passing or an “I” for incomplete. Students receiving an “I” overall for any course will be required to enroll in, and successfully complete, a summer program to ensure they have been instructed on the necessary skills for next school year. An email will be coming out Monday to all parents/students who this impacts.
Final grades for courses will be a cumulative average from quarters 1, 2, and 3. Teachers may bump up a student's final grade due to successful completion of eLearning.
Report cards and final grades will be available through Home Access. Grades are due for teachers on Thursday, May 21st at 4:00 pm. Report cards will be run and available the next day.
Please visit HomeAccess to view the current grade reports. This document has directions if you need help accessing your student’s progress during eLearning.
Final 4th quarter report cards will be available on Friday, May 22 via HomeAccess.
Yearbooks: Distributed in Fall 2020
Yearbooks will be distributed when we return in the fall. Any 8th grader who ordered a yearbook will get theirs sent over to the high school in person when schooling resumes.
D200 Summer School Opportunities
We are excited to offer many different summer school opportunities. These opportunities are to keep students engaged, support learning strands taught throughout the year, offer enrichment to get ahead, or provide additional support for specific skills needed to transition to the next level. Some courses may be mandatory for students based on academic performance through the year. For others, these courses are optional. We hope you take part in the many opportunities that District 200 is offering.

eLearning Plans for this week
You will find the new eLearning Plans for each grade level listed below. Here, you can see the teachers’ plans without the worry of a Canvas account. Students should still be logging into Canvas as all teachers are creating Canvas Announcements for lessons for their required “A” or “B” Days.
Sample Student Agenda for this week
The sample student agenda has been recreated for this week. If you feel you need this as a support to help organize your student, please have them make a copy and monitor their work.
Staying Informed
How should you and students stay informed?
We are making our best effort to make contact with you and engage students every day. Students should be staying informed through their student Canvas page which houses our school announcements. Check out the announcements each day with a kick-off from Mr. Wheatley. Important information can be found here but is only accessible to students. Students are also emailed every morning by Mr. Wheatley to provide them with any specific information necessary.
