Dear Families,

Today we celebrate our office staff for all of their hard work and dedication. They keep our school organized and on track every day and we are so thankful for each one of them! Thank you Genesis, Delia, Jessica, Alyin, Marisol, Gloria, and Gracie!

Spring Testing Schedule

Please mark your calendars for the following dates. It's important to avoid appointments or other things that might take your student out of school so that they have the time they need for the following state assessments. Each testing day, students will be testing from 8:30 - 11:30 a.m.

May 11 - Washington Comprehensive Assessment of Science (WCAS) (8th grade only)

May 17 and 18 - Smarter Balanced Assessment (SBA) for ELA

May 24 and 25 - Smarter Balanced Assessment (SBA) for Math

Teachers use these tests to help them design better instruction for students, so we encourage students to always do their best. We will send out reminder messages to families the day before each test. Parents can also help by:

  • Remind your student to do their best by staying focused.
  • Ensure your student gets a good night's sleep and arrives to school on time.

8th Grade Promotion T-Shirts

8th grade students have the option of purchasing a T-shirt in honor of their last year here at MMS. Students were asked to vote on several shirt designs and the winning design (pictured below) is now available for purchase at T-shirts are $16. Long sleeve and hoodie options are also available. The deadline for orders is Friday, May 20.

Order a Yearbook Too!

Our publishing class puts out the annual yearbook as well as the Mustang Minute newspaper. This year's yearbook is a fantastic collection of full-color photos of all 7th and 8th graders as well as ALL sports teams - even spring sports!

Yearbooks are $30 and can be purchased in the office or with the link below. Yearbooks will be delivered to students before the end of the school year.

8th Grade Promotion

We will be hosting two separate ceremonies in the gym, the first at 8:30 a.m. and the second at 10:00 a.m. Students will be assigned to one of the ceremonies based on their advisory class, much like we did last year. Students will receive 4 tickets to give to family members who want to watch them get their certificates. If a family cannot attend, both ceremonies will be live-streamed on YouTube.

Find your student's advisory teacher's name below to know which ceremony they will be in.
