A Note From The Principal
From the Principal:
Dorr Families,
This year Dorr Elementary began Capturing Kids Hearts. This program supports the social emotional health of our Dorr family and is built on the foundation of relationships. Below is a survey for families to give input on the program. The results of the survey will help us continue to grow the CKH program.
Thank you for your input,
Mrs. Seniura
Preparing For The 2023-2024 School Year
New Procedure Starting Next Fall
As we prepare for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year, we would like to inform you of an important policy change that will affect all parents who volunteer at school, attend school parties, or chaperone field trips. Starting next school year, all parents who wish to volunteer, attend school parties, or chaperone will need to complete a background check that will be processed with the Michigan State Police.
We want to assure you that this change is being implemented with the safety and well-being of our students as our top priority. We believe that this is an important step in ensuring that our school remains a safe and secure environment for all our students.
The background check process is simple and straightforward and can be completed at this link. Rest assured that all information provided will be kept confidential and will only be used for the purpose of the background check. You will only be contacted if your background check prohibits you from attending school functions.
We understand that this may cause some inconvenience, but we hope that you will appreciate the importance of this policy change. We are committed to providing a safe and secure learning environment for our students, and we believe that this is an important step in achieving that goal.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding this policy change, please do not hesitate to contact us. We appreciate your cooperation and support in ensuring the safety of our students.
Spring Time Reminder!
Spring is upon us and that means dewy grass and wet playground equipment. Please prepare for this by packing an extra set of clothes and socks in your Childs backpack. The office cannot guarantee dry clothes will be available for students. If your students has borrowed clothes from the office please wash and return promptly.
The office is running very low on available clothes to loan out to students. If you have any sweat pants, athletic pants, or leggings that you were going to donate, consider donating them to the office! We are always in need of "loner clothes" for those unplanned accidents, and spring time mud puddles.
