Agile Mindset - Plan for success and get to gett'n
1) We have come a long way from survival mode to taking control of our situation as educators in today's evolving landscape!
2) Creating something new is hard work! Planning for success is difficult given all the factors that need to be considered. Without putting in the work needed a project may just become just another thing we spent time on.
3) Finding a good balance between planning for success and planning for perfection is important. Too little stress on the planning equals troubled waters ahead and a greater chance of missing the mark, too much stress on planning can equal a failure to launch scenario where we have to wait for things to be perfect and things are just never perfect. This is what I like about the idea of a two or three-week sprint! Having an idea to try something new planning, adapting, and ultimately learning from it is vital to our profession and preparing our kids and equally important developing the skills needed to teach in innovative ways. Developing an agile mindset, we are equal learners in the process along with our kids.
3) Creating something new takes moxie, courage, and faith. I separate moxie and courage only because I think moxie is defined by a high level of spice and a spirit of taking on something with a purpose. Along with having the courage to stay the path when things get tough, these two are a potent tandem for success when it comes to innovation! Faith is real. We either have it or we don't. We have to really believe in what we are doing else the kids sense it and well we can all fill in the blanks on that one.
4) Having an agile mindset is what makes us great! When surrounded by people with a like mindset as well as a supportive mindset we are strong! I don't believe the work gets any easier, but I think the encouragement and support give us our innovative superpowers needed to by-pass average and giving our kids meaningful experiences.
I appreciate you all! Nine more weeks together, let's make them count!
Glad you're here!
