May It Be of Benefit
Hello Families,
This week my message is all about celebration. I'm just so excited/happy/thrilled about and proud of how everyone has cooperated to make this week happen. Parents, you have been flexible about the minimum day schedule, the changes in pick-up procedures and locations, the traffic, the mask-wearing, and not coming onto campus unless it's absolutely necessary. That's a lot to roll with. I appreciate that our SM families understand that our staff is working with rules and guidelines that we have no control over.
I have been given feedback from some of you about how to improve some of our new practices, and I really appreciate that. Sometimes you have a perspective that we haven't thought of and whenever possible I will work to make this school work for you and your children. That, to me, is what neighborhood public schools are all about.
We also have to give it up to our staff who have had to change many practices. There are many things about the way we are required to do school right now that don't feel comfortable to them. We know it's not best practice to spread students out, to keep them in classroom groups, or to decrease instructional minutes (per the governor's decision). It's all worth it, though, to have students on campus. Please see the sections below for some reminders and updates, and again, thank you for your positivity.
With gratitude,
Mrs. Gold
School Picture Day is October 14th
Distance Learning students can come during a window of time (yet to be determined) and drive up to the gym, get out of your car, and get your picture taken, then head back home (parents accompany students, of course). More details to come as we get closer.
Morning Drop Off
That means that starting Monday unless your Kindergartener or new-to-Shasta-Meadows student is having a hard time going to class, we are expecting you to say your goodbyes in the car, at the sidewalk, or outside of the gate.
Thanks again, everyone, for being so diligent about wearing your masks.

October Menu and Meal Pick Up Info
and our October Menu
Distance Learning families can pick up their meals outside our cafeteria from 10-10:30 daily or you can choose to pick up a week's worth of meals each Monday. Pick up for DL student meals is at the kitchen side door which is along the eastern part of the parking lot nearest to the cafe.
Breakfasts for the following morning will go home with in-person students each day at the end of the school day.
Dismissal Map
This is starting to go better and better each day. Please remember:
1) You can park in the lots or on the street and walk to where your child's class is waiting.
2) You can use the inside (left hand) lane to get closer to your child's pick-up location or to leave once you've loaded your child/ren.
**We also have handicap-accessible parking in both lots. However, if you use those spots in the bus parking lot, please know that you may need to wait behind the bus until it is ready to exit.
