DAVIS HILL COMMUNITY UPDATE
September 30, 2019
Dear Davis Hill Community,
We certainly are having a beautiful late summer/ early fall! I am hopeful that everyone is enjoying their weekend.
Thank you to all of the DHCommunity members who volunteered their time and/ or came out to support our Spaghetti Supper on Friday Night. Our DHDragons certainly appreciated the support!

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 2ND: FOOD PANTY DONATION DAY
Hello, Davis Hill families! So excited to continue our Davis Hill tradition of supporting the Wachusett Food Pantry and helping our neighbors who might need an extra bag or two of groceries to get by. Your monthly generosity makes a HUGE difference! Davis Hill is one of the largest contributors to our local food pantry! (see www.wachusettfoodpantry.org for more information) The 'suggestions' on this list are JUST THAT-- suggestions. We happily will take any non-perishable, non-expired items. Collections are held the first Wednesday of each month from 8:45-9:00 am. (A bin will remain in the lobby until Thursday for students who many have forgotten their donations that day.)
Dressing up is optional and should always honor the school’s dress code policy in regards to modesty and safety.
Looking forward to another great year for the Food Pantry at Davis Hill!
THEME FOR THE MONTH: Crazy Hat/Hair Day
SUGGESTIONS: Canned meals; canned pastas, beef stews
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 4TH: SCHOOL STORE
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 6TH: DRAGON DASH
We will need volunteers as well on Sunday. If you are able to help out- Please see the Sign-Up Genius link below if you can help. We appreciate the support!
The following areas need volunteers:

Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in helping.
Davis Hill PTA
A reminder that any non-employee adult that enters school to volunteer/ chaperone (except for assemblies) must have a current CORI (Criminal Offense Records Information) completed. (CORI’s expire every 3 years.) Please ensure that when you are in the building, you are wearing your badge and it is visible. We appreciate your support in keeping our school safe!
We respectfully request that all afternoon office dismissals (when they are required) occur prior to 3:10. The reason for this request is that it is difficult to balance end-of-the-day needs and the upcoming school-wide dismissal in the office. The office is considered 'closed' from 3:15-3:45 during the dismissal period.
POLICY REVIEW/ LOST ARTICLES*
The school will not assume responsibility for any items (brought to school by students), which are lost or stolen. A Lost and Found area is maintained in the cafeteria. On a monthly basis, unclaimed clothing will be donated. Pupils are encouraged to turn in any article found to the Lost and Found Area. Items coming to school, including lunch boxes, book bags, coats, hats, boots, and mittens should be clearly labeled with the student's first and last name.
*We respectfully request that students do not bring toys/ cards (Pokemon/ etc.)/ stuffed animals or personal possessions from home. These items can easily become lost, damaged or be ‘traded’ with friends.
