Teacher Feature
Answering the Call
by Viviana Huerta
For years, people have considered teaching much more than just a “job” or “career.” It takes a special person to be a dedicated teacher and the profession is often referred to as a “Calling”. Such is the case with Ms. Ingram, one of Harmony’s brand new teachers. In fact, this is her first full time teaching job after completing her student teaching last year. “I absolutely adore my students, and there is nothing more satisfying for me, and more importantly them, to watch them grow during first grade. Many of them come to school in August unable to read, but by mid-year, they are discovering the joy that books bring into their lives.”
Prior to teaching, Ms. Ingram managed the “Aqua-Tots Swim School” and taught dance at accompany owned by her mother. In college, she began as a nursing student, but she suddenly felt that “call” to teach, and she changed majors to education. “I have not regretted the change for a moment,” she said recently. “And I can’t wait for an excited group of new students every year.
Now THAT is a true calling, and Harmony School of Nature is fortunate to have teachers such as Ms. Ingram as part of its teaching team.

Payments may also be made in the school office.
Should a student’s meal account balance fall below $0, he /she will be allowed to charge up to -10 $ DISTRICT LIMIT. Once the negative meal account balance limit is reached, the student will receive an alternate meal. Alternate meals consist of cereal, fruit, and milk for breakfast; and for lunch, a sandwich, vegetable, and milk. If a student is later approved for free meals, he/she will begin receiving meals immediately. However, the household is still responsible for paying the negative account balance.
