The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards
The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards was created in 1923 by Maruice R. Robinson, founder of Scholastic Corporation. The Alliance for Young Artists and Writers has been around since 1994. The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards were established to honor student talent in schools and communities across the country. The awards are open to all students in grades 7 through 12 from both public, private, and also home schools throughout the United States.
The Marrs Middle students were among some of those honored at the Nebraska Scholastic Art Awards on Saturday, February 25th, 2017 in Omaha, Nebraska. In Nebraska alone, there were over 3830 entries and 1281 piece of artwork from 834 students were chosen for the awards. Thirty-One Marrs students were among those chosen by the jurors to be accepted into the Scholastics Award Family. Marrs had 3 students walk away with Gold Keys, 11 Silver Keys and 17 Honorable mentions, the largest number of students from Marrs to ever win at the Scholastic level.
Marrs is very proud of their creative students, keep up the good work.

Papás,
