Banneker Principal Weekly Update
April 12 - April 16 (B-Week Specials)
Principal's Welcome Message and P2 Theme
Can you believe that we are 3/4 through this school year. Blink and you would have missed it. Last Friday was the last day of the quarter and Monday is a student holiday and a teacher work day. This means your child should not log onto their morning meeting and they have no work to do Monday. So curl up with a good book and read the day away and go enjoy some of the beautiful weather they are predicting this week. Your child's report card will be ready to view in ParentVUE by Monday, April 19 but most of our families know you can always check the gradebook throughout the quarter to see how your child is doing. Last week’s Positivity Project theme was identifying and appreciating the good in others. You would not believe how many kind notes I got from students this week. Thank you all so much for showing your appreciation for me. I appreciate you too. This week's Positivity Project theme is Fairness. Fairness means you believe that all people have value. You approach situations with an unbiased mindset and treat everyone with respect. What a great trait to work on this time of year. Many of us parents are confronted with fairness every day if we have multiple children. I hope you have a great time learning about fairness this week. This is the last week of 2-day per week school. Speaking of fairness, we thought it would be fair to give teachers a workday on Friday to get ready for the 4-day return of hybrid students. Friday, April 16th will be an asynchronous day for students which means ALL students log in from 8:00am-8:30am and the rest of the day is asynchronous. Hybrid students will return on Tuesday, April 20 to 4-days per week. Please see the invitation to a principal's coffee below for families who want more information about this return. I look forward to a great week with your child.
