Friday, TOMORROW, is Early Dismissal and students will be dismissed at 1:40. Eagle's Nest is also Friday so students should wear their Character Counts pillar shirts or their pillar color.
There are two FUN family events coming up:
Portfolio Night which is an OPEN HOUSE evening where you can stop by the school anytime between 5:30-7:00 on Tuesday, May 17th. During the evening you can:
- Visit your child's classroom to view collected work or participate in a classroom activity
- View artwork around the school
- Purchase books at the Anderson Book Fair in the gym
- Buy Erickson Spirit Wear in the gym
- Buy Bake Sale items in the lobby. WE NEED BAKED ITEMS: If you can donate items for the bake sale email: ericksonpto13@gmail.com. Kids can bring the baked goods to school the morning of May 17th or drop off anytime before Portfolio Night.
- Participate in the Buona Beef fundraiser at Buona Beef and pick up dinner or dine in! See flyer below.
Lunch With A Loved One on May 25th from 12:00-12:30. Bring a picnic lunch and blanket for you and your child(ren) to eat OUTSIDE on school grounds. Come a little early to pick a spot and then meet your children at the following locations at 12:00:
- Last names beginning with A-L should meet outside DOOR 9 (the 2nd/3rd grade wing exit)
- Last names beginning with M-Z should meet outside DOOR 7 (the 4th/5th grade wing exit)
A RSVP form will be sent home on Friday if you plan to attend. Please fill one out for each child. Return RSVP forms by May 23. *Preschool and kindergarten students may attend, but do not need a RSVP form filled out since they will not be in school at that time.
FIELD DAY is also coming up on Friday, June 3 (rain date is Monday, June 6). PTO needs parent volunteers to help make this day a success for the students. If you are available to volunteer on Field Day please email: ericksonpto13@gmail.com
BACK to SCHOOL BASH is scheduled for Friday, August 26 in the evening. PTO needs parent helpers to plan and volunteer at this event. If you are available to help plan or volunteer at the Back to School Bash, please email: ericksonpto13@gmail.com

Attention Roselle Families: Roselle Mosaic Wall Construction
The RACF is welcoming Roselle kids (1st-8th grade) to help start constructing the Historical Mosaic Wall which will eventually be attached to the wall by 8000 Miles Restaurant on Main and Prospect Street. If you are a Roselle resident and would like to participate the dates are:

WHERE: Trinity School: 405 South Rush, Roselle (Enter the back door)
TIME: 3:30 - 5:00 (or as soon as you can get there).

TONIGHT IS...5th-to-6th Grade Transition Night
Current 5th Grade students and their parents/guardians are invited to visit Westfield Middle School on May 12th from 6:00pm - 7:30pm for 5th-to-6th Grade Transition Night.
5th Graders will begin the evening with Westfield Student Council members and will be provided a short presentation and a tour of the building.
Parents will begin the evening in the Athletic Gym and will be provided a presentation by Westfield Administration and Staff highlighting the unique aspects of middle school.
The presentations will begin at 6:00pm. Please enter through our Athletic Entrance, Door 32, located along the front parking lot.
Following the presentations, parents will have the opportunity to visit with staff members, tour the building with their child, and visit our Book Fair.
We hope to see you at Westfield on May 12th!

Summer Enrichment Opportunity
The district will be providing subscriptions for students for IXL on Math and Reading topics. In addition to the IXL practice, students have access to 24/7 tutoring. If they come across a problem they don't understand in IXL they can take that to Paper for support.
Detailed tutorials and information will be shared in the near future with families on how to access and use the programs!
2022-2023 Kindergarten and New Student Registration

Erickson Elementary PTO - Open Volunteer Positions for 2022/23 School Year
Fun Fair/Back to School Event: Two volunteers work together to coordinate a back to school event in August on a Friday evening. The event includes the sale of food/drinks, and entertainment provided, such as inflatables, face painting, games, photo booth, magic show and a DJ. The entertainment may change from one year to the next.
Holiday Gift Corner: One volunteer coordinates the opportunity for students to purchase inexpensive gifts for their families for the holiday season. The volunteer works with approximately 20 volunteers to help inventory, set up display tables, price items, help students make their selections, and act as cashier.
Holiday Cookie Decorating: One volunteer coordinates with an outside vendor (Entrée Kitchen or local bakery like D’s Treats) to have a holiday cookie decorating event on an evening in December at Erickson Elementary. Children decorate cookies to take home. Santa makes a visit and provides a small treat to the students.
Talent Show: One volunteer coordinates the Talent Show for 4th & 5th Grade students. The volunteer works with an Erickson staff member to oversee auditions, rehearsals, an evening performance for families and a day time performance for the student body. The process usually start after Winter Break with a performance in February or March.

Spirit Week: One volunteer coordinates Spirit Week activities to be held in March in conjunction with Spirit Day. Activities include at least one family activity in the evening, one in-school activity, and Spirit Day. Other activities can be themed dress-up days, contests, etc.
Spring Family Fun Night: Two volunteers work together to coordinate a family fun night in the Spring. Family activities may include: Movie Night, Bingo Night and Paint Night. The list of activities may change from one year to the next.
Field Day: One additional volunteer to help Co-Chair & coordinate approximately 30 volunteers to assist on Field Day. Field Day is a fun day of outdoor games and other activities at the end of the school year. The day includes snacks, lunch, and afternoon treat, all provided by the PTO. As well as game set-up, and coordinating volunteers to assist with the games. Field Day is coordinated with the Physical Education Department. One position filled - Thank You Dee Patel! We still need 1 more volunteer!
Room Parent Coordinator: Filled - Thank You Sam Messamore!
Teacher Appreciation: One volunteer works to coordinate the set-up and order food for the appreciation meals throughout the year (usually during Parent/Teacher Conferences and Teacher Appreciation Week). This volunteer also coordinates advertising for Teacher Appreciation Week activities (May).
