October Newsletter
Language Science with Mrs. Sanders
October is here!
We are ready for fall in Language Science class at Rockbrook. I'm so proud of the hard work and effort the students are putting into their learning each day.
Homework
2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders- They have been bringing home lists of words or short sentences. They need to read these to an adult and have the adult initial the page. This helps them practice the skill that we learned that day in class.
4th and 5th graders- They have a homework folder that should come home nightly. The students have a short passage (or list of words) that they need to read to an adult each night. These words are words that don't always follow the rules and need to become sight words. They need to read one half page (or one section) each night to an adult.
Learning Ally and Bookshare
I have given the students their login and passwords for Learning Ally and Bookshare. (These are sites that have thousands of online books that students can have read to them). This is a great way for students to read books that are of interest to them that are above their reading level. Their logins are their last initial and first initial followed by their id number. Their passwords are abcd1234. Here is a video that explains how to use Learning Ally. We are hoping that the app will be available on the 4th and 5th graders iPads soon.
