HOW DO YOU EAT A PIZZA???? One Bite at a Time
Are you feeling like you can’t keep up with your assignments? Feeling overloaded and overwhelmed? You are not alone. Working virtually allows you to continue with your education but also presents you with some unique challenges. Probably the biggest challenge is keeping it all organized and making sure it all gets done. If you look at the whole list of things you have to do, you might think “not happening” and just give up. But there IS a way to make it better. HOW? Well, that’s where my pizza analogy comes in: When you get a pizza, do you put the entire pie in your mouth? Of course not! To make it easier to eat, that pie is cut into eight slices. Great. Take a slice. Do you put the entire slice in your mouth at once? Again – of course not! YOU TAKE BITES. That’s how to handle your schoolwork – one bite at a time. Don’t try to do everything at the same time. Instead, take that big list and organize it into individual, manageable parts. Then make a schedule and FOCUS ON ONE THING AT A TIME. If you’re having trouble prioritizing and deciding what to do first, or having trouble making a schedule for yourself, reach out for help - to your parents, your teachers or your counselor. As you do each assignment, cross it off your list, and the list gets smaller and smaller. Before you know it, you’ve completed all those things that seemed as if they’d never get done. Just like the pizza – you took care of it - one bite at a time.
