Life In The Moment
By: Melissa Lucena
Hello, there.
My name's Melissa, lover of all things Marvel, aesthetically pleasing pictures, food, and making a fool of myself. Welcome to the tour of me.
Photography
A picture is worth a thousand words. Words of wisdom, sorrow, glee, and anguish. The ability to capture a moment, kept still in time by the flash of a camera, gives me a giddiness with the knowledge of being able to keep little snapshots of my life. Looking through a camera is like looking through a little window, you're able focus on particular subjects and blur out others.
Music
I like to think of music like a soundtrack to your life. Just by the type of music someone listens to, you can tell what their personality may be like. It's perfect for any day, whether it's bright or gloomy. It has been a part of my life ever since I could remember. Music comes in all different forms, some can tug on your heartstrings, bring you back to the days when you would dance in your bedroom, describe the mood you're in, or helps you reminisce in your most unforgettable moments.
Friendship
With friendship, you're in for a ride. You do crazy and extraordinary things with friends. Having friends opens up the world for adventures, for even more friendships. You're able to share your passions with someone else. True friendship gives you the guts to do things you'd never do in public, the freedom to say anything you want without being judged, and your #1 biggest supporter and fan, other than your parents maybe.
Plane Rides
Being suspended in midair, flying at about 500 mph really gets me to thinking about our existence. We are so completely and utterly small compared to the world, let alone the universe. From a plane, you can look down and see people going about their daily lives, how small they look from your own perspective. Then you realize how you're exactly like them, one out of 7.4 billion. Even on the plane you're in, you'll only see a fraction of the people on your flight, and you'll most likely never see them ever again. We're such a unique species and it's amazing how we're still exploring, discovering, innovating on our own little sphere revolving around a ball of burning gas, while there's so much more out there to discover and learn about.
Coffee Houses
Just the thought of coffee houses makes me want to drop everything and drive to one, if only I could drive. Sitting in a coffee house is like being stuck in one point in time. You're surrounded by the bustle of people rushing in and out the door, the aroma of coffee being brewed, laughter, the clacking of keys on a keyboard, people talking on their phones, orders being called from the pick up line, the hushed whispers of a study group, and the occasional rustling of a newspaper. The atmosphere is a great place for me to study, drink coffee (obviously), or to simply think and listen to my music.
Bye!
Thank you for taking this tour of my thoughts and what makes me, me.
