This area consists of Midland, Amarillo, Lubbock, and Odessa. The four major cities in the high plains.
American Peregine Falcon
The American Peregine Falcon lives in the trees of the high plains of Texas. The Peregine Falcon eats snakes, birds etc. this animal is one of the endangered animals in the high plains.
Black-footed ferret
The black-footed ferret lives in holes made by other animals like snakes, prairie dogs, and gophers. The ferret eats prairie dogs, birds, and snakes. This is another one of the endangered animals in the high plains.
Plants and Animals
Our plants in the high plains are grassland, mesquite, yucca (cactus), and shortgrass prairie. Our ten animals that live in the high plains are buffalo, antelope, wintering fowl, prairie dogs, bats, raccoons, flying squirrel, burrow owl, American Peregine falcon, and the black-footed ferret.
